KUCHING: The state Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry in collaboration with Sarawak Tourism Federation and Sarawak Restaurant Association has launched Sarawak Asia Kitchen 2019 to further boost its theme ‘Sarawak More to Discover’.

Previously known as Asia Food Kitchen since 2017, the rebranded initiative was launched by Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during the first day of the Rainforest World Music Festival 2019 (RWMF) at Sarawak Cultural Village here.

Highlighting local food ranging from Sarawak Laksa, Rojak, Ayam Pansoh, Kolo Mee to Asian foods from Thailand, Indonesia and Japan, it aims to provide the visitors with a delightful range of local and regional cuisine that are readily available at the festival.

During the ceremony, the guests who included Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin; permanent secretary to the Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry Hii Chang Kee; and Sarawak Tourism Board acting director Angelina Bateman, were entertained with cultural performances including a dance performance by a team from Yogyakarta.
