KUCHING: Sarawak Energy urges the public and its customers to be cautious when they receive calls related to their electricity billing, retail services or other operational information received from persons claiming to be from Syarikat SESCO Berhad (SESCO), their retail and operations subsidiary.

Concerned members of the public have reported calls from individuals claiming to be employees of SESCO, threatening supply disconnection unless their outstanding bills are paid.

Sarawak Energy thanks customers for verifying these calls and would like to reiterate that the company does not provide any bank account numbers to its customers for the purpose of payment of electricity bills.

Customers are advised to ignore such calls, and make payments only to SESCO customer service counters, its authorised payment channels and through the SEB Cares mobile app which is available for download in Apple’s App Store or Android’s Google Playstore.

Customers can also check their outstanding bills through this app. Customers suspicious of calls, text messages or advisories are advised to immediately contact Sarawak Energy’s 24/7 Customer Care Centre at 1300 88 3111 or email customercare@sarawakenergy.com.my.
