KUCHING: Sarawak Sports and Welfare Council Members (Maksak) futsal squad are determined to spring a surprise in the Maksak National Futsal Championship 2017 at Kedah Darul Aman from May 18 to 21.
Sarawak head coach, Nizam Mahmud @ Digun said he was confident his squad can achieve that dream.
“We do not put any target behind the performance of our players in the competition this time. Just to make sure they could spring a surprise in every game later,” said Nizam recently.
He added that the state squad have been drawn in Group B with Pahang, Kuala Lumpur and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
“Our first match will be against the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur on May 18 at 9.40pm, against Pahang on May 19 at 9.00pm and the final group game against the Federal Territory of Labuan on May 20 at 9.50am,” said Nizam.
The semi-finals and final round will take place on May 21. Meanwhile, the sponsorship handover ceremony by several corporations, namely SH Sumiyyah, JAJA Enterprise, H & D Corner and Azedfar was held on Tuesday.
