KUCHING: The Sarawak portion of the Pan Borneo Highway (PBH) is 52 percent complete, said Senior Minister (Infrastructure Cluster) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He said that was the progress of the highway project as at June 2020, adding that the progress of the Sabah portion of the highway was at 32 percent in the same period.
“The Perikatan Nasional (PN) government will continue to respect the decision of the previous government to change the method of implementation of the Pan Borneo Highway for Sabah and Sarawak.
“Following that, efforts to improve on the current implementation is being done to overcome identified shortcomings,” Fadillah who is also Works Minister said.
He stated this in a written reply to a question on the matter by a Member of Parliament raised during the current sitting of the august house.
Last February, Pakatan Harapan (PH) federal government decided to terminate the PDP agreement with Lebuhraya Borneo Utara (LBU), opting for the rest of the project to be done by the Public Works Department (JKR).
