MIRI: A shoplot unit in SABERKAS Commercial complex was on fire Saturday night, sending members of the public and traders of Tamu SABERKAS into a panic mode.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Swift action of firemen from Miri Central Fire station and Lopeng managed to avoid the situation from becoming worse.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations centre (PGO) said, they received an emergency call at 8.43 pm.
The fire broke out from one of the units, an electrical shop, at the first floor of the three-storey building.
Firemen managed to contain the fire at 9. 21 pm.
The cause of fire and total loss are still being investigated.
