KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is hosting an event called ‘Uni Discovery Month’ to give prospective students some insight into things to come.
It features counselling sessions conducted virtually (10am to 10pm) and face-to-face (by appointment, 9 am to 5pm), as well as a two-week webinar series happening concurrently from Mar 29 to April 8.
“The sessions will provide opportunities for prospective students to obtain information directly from the university’s education counsellors about its course offerings, entry requirements, admission process, teaching and learning facilities, and more.
“The webinar series is the perfect guide for prospective students to discover what university life is all about and explore where their passion lies,” the university said.
The university added that the webinar series on Week 1 is themed ‘Discover Your University’ with topics such as ‘Transitioning to University Life’ (Mar 29), ‘Pathway for Foundation and Diploma Programmes’ (Mar 30), ‘Student Life 101: Life Beyond Classrooms’ (Mar 31), ‘Online Learning Tips and Tricks’ (April 1) and ‘Money Talk: Scholarships and Bursaries’ (April 5).

“The two webinar slots on April 3 will be taking place with the topics ‘Journey to Becoming a Qualified Accountant and Technology in 360 View’. This is followed by ‘Branding and Communication Design’ (April 6), ‘Engineering: Anything but Boring and Sago Biotechnology’ (April 7) and ‘Fake News and Misinformation: Creating Awareness in Social Media Communication’ (April 8),” the university said.
