KUCHING: The Sarawak Women for Women Society (SWWC) came in for praise from Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin for its numerous contributions to the community.

The society’s assistance included providing support to women and children in distress.

Yap praised SWWC during the opening ceremony of a seminar on children organised by the society for students of SJKC Sam Hap Hin here today.

“This seminar is crucial as it will increase their understanding on personal safety and how to set boundaries when making friends on social media,” he said.

He also reminded the students to stay united as ‘Anak Sarawak’ and study hard to become useful citizens so that they will be able to contribute positively towards the progress and development of Sarawak.

Later he handed over a Minor Rural Projects (MRP) grant of RM60,000 to the school board to assist them to improve and upgrade various facilities.
