KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Glowing Symphonic Concert’s opening night at the Experimental Theatre of University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) captivated a diverse audience with its blend of talent and creativity.

Organised by the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) students, the event started at 8 pm on Friday.

The concert kicked off with a reimagined version of “Feeling Good,” rearranged by FACA students. A key objective of the concert was to challenge conventional musical performances by engaging the audience’s senses.

Highlights included fresh takes on popular songs like “Just The Way You Are,” “Terus Hidup,” “Sparkle,” “Lelaki Ini,” and “Pujaanku.”

Renowned Sarawakian artists Roxy Izzy and Veronica Natasha were the evening’s musical guests. Roxy’s rendition of “If I Ain’t Got You” and Veronica’s performances of “Bujang Setengah Tan” and “Ukai Selatan,” accompanied by the orchestra, were standout moments.

Another memorable act was the students’ live accompaniment for the short film “Dendam Nisa,” which impressed the audience with its precision and timing.
