MUKAH: The early childhood education division of Community Development Departmant (Kemas) from Zone 1 of Mas Gading, Santubong, Petrajaya, Stampin, Puncak Borneo and Kuching emerged the overall winner of the state-level Tabika Potential Day held at UiTM Mukah Campus Branch here yesterday.
Tabika Kemas Zone 1 was the champion in the Sprint Hurdles Relay and Forward Squad event.
It also captured the Creative Movement award, Pemaju Masyarakat Inovatif Bahan Bantu Mengajar (BBM) Tabika award and Innovative BBM Taska Award.
Zone 2, comprising Kota Samarahan, Batang Sadong, Batang Lupar and Serian, emerged champion in the futsal and netball events while the best parade title went to Zone 3 comprising Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, Betong, Saratok and Sarikei.
Zone 5, comprising Julau, Lanang, Sibu, Kapit and Kanowit, won the Formula One and Vortex Throwing events.
Speaking at the closing of the four-day event, State Kemas deputy director Dayang Monalizawati Ismail, thanked parents and teachers for their commitment in bringing up their children through Kemas.
She called on Kemas teachers to continue educating the children not only in sports but also in other fields.
“As far as we know, our kindergarten teachers are all versatile and capable in various fields. I urge you to be dedicated educators for the sake of our future generations,” she added.
