KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg performed the Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Jamek this morning (July 31).

Abang Johari arrived at the mosque at around 7.50am and was greeted by Assistant Minister in Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and Kuching North City Commission) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) president Datuk Misnu Taha.

The Aidiladha prayers were performed while observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Later, the chief minister also went to perform the Friday prayer at Masjid Darul Akmal Taman Samariang Aman in Bandar Baru Semariang, Jalan Sultan Tengah.
