Taib distributes sacrificial meat to the poor

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib distributed sacrificial meat to 31 people, including less fortunate members of the society, during a Premier Sacrificial Ritual organised by Sarawak Islamic Council (Mais) at Dewan Hikmah here to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha yesterday.

Four cows were sacrificed. Among those who received the meat were 20 members of Unit Saudara Kita (USK).

Some of the sacrificial meat were also distributed to people around the city. Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tunku Bujang; DUN Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar; Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; and Rural Electricity Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
