Taib pays Mukah a visit

MUKAH: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud arrived here on Saturday for an official visit.

He arrived at the government rest house, Sri Mukah, at 12.15pm.

He was accompanied by former Mukah MP Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Leo Michael Toyad, Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, Mukah Resident Hamdiah Bakir, and community leader Temenggung Hendi Suhai.

The former chief minister then attended a randau (dialogue) session with Mukah community leaders at the same venue.

At 2.40pm, he visited the new Mukah Airport project at KM7 Jalan Mukah-Oya, before stopping at his ancestor’s grave to pay his respects.

His day ended at Masjid Setia Raja where he attended a dinner after performing evening prayers and presenting contributions to the poor, as well as to mosques and surau.

On Sunday (Sept 6), the Head of State has been scheduled to visit a sago waste-based bio-gas plant in Kampung Tabo and SK Kampung Tellian in Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah) at Jalan Tellian.

Taib will end his second day here by attending a dinner with heads of departments.
