KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from the Australian High Commissioner Dr Justin Lee at Demak Jaya, here, on Thursday morning.

Lee was accompanied by his wife Jeanne Lee, honorary consul for Australia Datuk Dr Philip Ting and second secretary to the Australian High Commissioner Luke McGreevy.

The courtesy call was to introduce Lee as the new Australian High Commissioner in Malaysia who assumed the post six months ago. It was also to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Malaysia-Australia and Australia-Sarawak.

Lee also discussed on strengthening the field of education, especially Australian universities based in Malaysia, investments and international trade.

He told the Head of State that he was ready to help encourage foreign investment to support Sarawak’s economic development and intensify the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
