PRIORITISING STATE’S WELLBEING

BETONG: One of the measures taken by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in prioritising the wellbeing of the Sarawak people is taking over projects which were cancelled by the previous government.

As reported by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu said that numerous projects such as the construction of bridges had now been taken over by the state government.

He added that this was important in order to complete the coastal road network.

He was speaking during a visit and symbolic handover of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) flag at Rumah Rabong Usah, Gensurai, Layar, Betong on Monday.

Rentap, who is also Layar assemblyman, said the chief minister’s leadership prioritised in protecting Sarawak’s rights.

He urged the people in the area to practise mature politics without the need for division just because of different political ideologies.

The people should be wise in evaluating which party brings various programmes and initiatives for the benefits of all, especially residents in the longhouses, he pointed out.
