KUCHING: A productive discussion took place today between the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) regarding previously stalled infrastructure projects in the state.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas characterised the meeting as highly fruitful, stating its success in addressing lingering issues surrounding various road projects under KKDW’s jurisdiction.

“We successfully tackled several obstacles that hindered the smooth implementation of these projects.

“The KKDW demonstrated openness to our proposals, and we, in turn, assured them of MIPD’s commitment, alongside the state JKR, to expedite the resolution of the stalled projects,” he said in a statement.

Earlier, Uggah, who is also MIPD Minister, led its delegation, with KKDW being represented by its secretary-general, Datuk Seri Ramlan Datuk Harun.

Also present were MIPD Deputy Minister Datuk Aidel Lariwoo and permanent secretary Datuk Chiew Chee Yau, Deputy Minister in The Premier’s Department Datuk Gerawat Gala, and Public Works Department director Datuk Richard Tajan.
