Tamin longhouses get minor project grants

SELANGAU: A total of 57 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) including women bureaus in longhouses in the Tamin constituency have received grants from their Assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang.

The grants were handed over during a thanksgiving gathering on the appointment of Penghulu Chrisropher Chat at Rumah Adi George on Saturday.

The minor rural project (MRP) grants from Gira amounted to RM829,000.

In his speech, Gira reminded recipients that the allocations should be kept in the JKKK accounts of their respective longhouses and used accordingly.

Also at the event, Gira donated RM35,000 to the Village Development Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Adi and RM5,000 to the longhouse Women’s Bureau, making the total amount RM40,000.

At a separate event at Rumah Rose Tandang, he also allocated RM10,000 and an additional RM5,000 from Senator Rita Insol for Rumah Rose.

Gira announced plans to build a Balai Raya under the allocation of the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) 2023 which is estimated to cost RM500,000 for the needs of the residents.
