KUCHING: The Batang Rambungan bridge project has been classified as ‘sick’ and its tender is under termination review.

With the construction of eight bridges along the Lundu-Sampadi road that have been completed and the Pan Borneo Highway on the Mayon-Telok Melano route expected to be fully competed by year-end, Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said the delay of the Batang Rambungan bridge was the ‘missing link’.

“I hope that the agencies responsible for the project can take appropriate action to ensure that construction can resume as soon as possible,” he said during a breaking of fast ceremony on Monday (April 3).

On the programme, a total of 35 asnaf (those who are eligible) received donations in the form of cash and food aid.

The recipients were selected from 10 Muslim villages in Sematan Zone.

Azizul said this programme was not something new in his constituency as it had been a tradition since his late father Pehin Sri Adenan Satem was an assemblyman there.
