Taos 3.0 to take place on Dec 21

SIBU: Kelab Sape Dayak Sibu (KSDS) will host The Art of Sape (Taos) 3.0 on December 21 at the Sibu Heritage Centre (SHC), Central/Wong Nai Siong Road from 9am to 5pm.

Its chairman Anthony Abong said Taos 3.0, previously known as the Sape Show and Exhibition, has entered its third edition this year.

“Last year, Taos has received encouraging response from the public and this year, we are ready to host it again,” he said, adding that KSDS still retains its theme ‘With Sape, We Unite’, at a press conference here yesterday.

He said among activities to be held during the event include sape exhibition, sape demonstration, sape busking and photo sessions with a sape.

“This year, there will be a mini sape concert in conjunction with the Christmas celebration which will be held from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the SHC stage.

“Performances at the concert include ngajat dance, sape playing and a live band to enliven the Christmas mood,” he said, adding that there will also be other activities in conjunction with the event, such as handicraft sales, tattooing and more.

Members of the public, especially sape fans/lovers, are invited to attend the event and admission is free.
