KUCHING: Tatau sports hall has been identified as a Covid-19 vaccination centre for the Tatau district.

Bintulu Resident Jack Aman Luat, accompanied by the Bintulu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), visited the hall today to see its condition and discuss preparations and equipment needed to be used for later.

Jack said the sports hall was selected as the vaccination centre for Tatau because of its large space.

According to him, a vaccination simulation exercise will be held before the day of the vaccination after all the logistic facilities and equipment have been prepared.

He added that the vaccine would be given to those over 18 years old as early as May.

Jack urged the people in Tatau to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as practising social distancing and always washing their hands with soap or using sanitisers.

Present during his visit were Bintulu Health Officer Dr Melvin Chung Hsien Liang; a representative of the Tatau District Officer, Calvin Ligong; representatives from the Health Ministry; Tatau district police and officers from the National Security Council, Public Works Department, Resident’s Office and Tatau District Office.
