Tatiuc offers RM3.1mln scholarships

KUALA TERENGGANU: TATI University College (Tatiuc), a state-run Terengganu higher learning institution, offers scholarships amounting to RM3.1 million to new students for May and September intakes this year.

Minister Besar Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the Terengganu Sejahtera Scholarship will be providing an opportunity for eligible students to participate in the foundation level programme in Engineering and Information Technology.

“The value of this scholarship is RM11,045 throughout the course including the tuition fee and accommodation at a residential college.

“Better still, the first 100 eligible students will be offered a living allowance of RM323 per month. Hence, I hope that Terengganu-born students will grab the opportunity to further their study at Tatiuc for free,” he told a press conference here today.

Also present were State Syariah Implementation, Education and Higher Education Committee chairman Satiful Bahri Mamat and Tatiuc Rector Professor Dr Anuar Ahmad.

Currently, Tatiuc offers three Master’s programmes, 10 undergraduate programmes, 13 diploma programmes and two fundamental programmes in various fields including manufacturing, automation, electrical, non-destructive tests, chemistry, polymers, computers, technology management and graphic media.

Meanwhile, Anuar said that besides the scholarships for foundation level education, Tatiuc also provided a living allowance to the diploma students of RM200 per month, totalling RM4,800 during the course of study.

“The undergraduate students will receive a living allowance of RM250 per month equivalent to RM8,000 throughout the course of study. There will also be discounts for the tuition fees to students from the B40 family.

“A total of 1,100 new students for the 2019/2020 session are expected to benefit from this scholarship,” he added.
