BINTULU: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) through the Bintulu Division Office organised a zakat seminar which was held at Dinner World Restaurant here on Sunday.
The seminar aimed to explain the zakat requirements, share information about TBS aid products and better understand the needs of the local community.
During the programme, the general manager of TBS, Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mod Nailie presented a paper entitled “Together Gives Prosperity” while deputy head of TBS Operations Sector Ustaz Mod Yusree Mod Zain, presented a paper entitled “Baitulmal Menyantuni Ummah”.

At the event, Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak also distributed assistance amounting to RM27,990 to 15 recipients through the Programme for Strengthening Scholarly Traditions, the Programme for Strengthening Community Welfare and the Programme for Developing Islamic Institutions.
As of October 31, Tabung Baitulmal had distributed a total of RM86.74 million to eligible ‘asnaf’ (needy folk) through its four main programmes, namely, the Programme for Strengthening Scholarly Traditions, the Programme for Developing Islamic Institutions, the Programme for Enhancing the Welfare of the Ummah and Community Skills Improvement Programme.
