Teachers, educators hold bubur lambuk programme

The bubur lambuk programme organised by the SMK Simanggang teachers in collaboration with the Islamic Education Bureau of the Sri Aman District Education Office.

SIMANGGANG: The teachers of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Simanggang recently held a bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) programme in collaboration with the Islamic Education Bureau of the Sri Aman District Education Office.

The school principal, Ramlee Bee, also participated in the programme which began at 9am and lasted until 1.30pm at the school canteen.

During the event, 600 containers of the porridge were distributed to the frontliners and Muslims.

Among the agencies that received the porridge were the Fire and Rescue Department, the Royal Malaysian Police Force, the Civil Defence Force and the hospital.

Other recipients included the Bandar Sri Aman Mosque, Kampung Tengah Old Mosque, Kampung Hilir Surau and Kampung Hulu Surau. 

“Congratulations to SMK Simanggang for successfully holding the programme which further strengthened the relationships between educators, the public and frontliners here during Ramadan,” said Assistant Education Officer of the Islamic Education Unit at the Sri Aman District Education Office, Syaifullah Ismail.

He added the participants complied with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent cases of Covid-19 transmission during the programme.
