SIBU: Members of Lions Clubs from Lions International District 308-A2 Region 2 & 3 recently visited several Chinese primary schools in the outskirts of Sibu and donated back massagers to teachers and staff.

The schools included those in Salim, Pulau Kerto, Durin and Jalan Ulu Oya.

The past District Governor of 308-A2, Datuk Betty Wong Yieng, who is the organising chairperson of the 60th Multi District 308-A2 Lions Convention said the massagers, sponsored by Past Lions International director Zhang Rui Tai, were supposed to be gifts from the 2020 Lions Convention to its delegates.

“Unfortunately, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in both 2020 and 2021, the convention couldn’t take place in Sibu, leaving these massagers unused.

“In a decision made by the presidents of Region 2 and Region 3 Lions Clubs, they decided to donate the massagers to a number of Chinese primary schools teachers and staff in Sibu, allowing them to use the devices to alleviate fatigue during work,” she said.
