KUCHING: The sub-branches of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) are urged to work together to gain the support of voters in preparation for the upcoming state election.

PBB vice president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the election machinery, comprising various wings in the party have to collaborate to ensure preparation for the state polls are conducted smoothly.

“We must ensure our election machinery is ready to face the upcoming state election. This is to ensure that all our plans can be successfully implemented,” he said at a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-PBB Pantai Damai dialogue session held at the Telaga Air voting centre (PTM) last Wednesday night.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department, said teamwork was an important aspect in delivering a huge victory for the party.

“We have seen it in past elections that the majority attained by the party’s candidate had increased due to collaboration,” he said.

He pointed out that with good relationship at the grassroots, development projects could also be implemented smoothly.

“This is evident with the development in the area including in Telaga Air. Not only is it equipped with basic amenities, but it is also an attraction to many due to the hard work of the leadership in the area,” he said.

Dr Abdul Rahman also reminded party members that dirty politics such as defaming and slandering the opposition was not the best way to campaign in the state election.

“Instead, what is important is we highlight the development rather than running down our opponents,” he said.
