KUCHING: Farmers and livestock breeders are urged to collaborate with government department and its agencies to improve their skills.
Through this collaboration, these groups of people will improve their knowledge, awareness and skills in the agriculture sector, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang pointed out.
He said the state government had allocated a substantial amount of fund to develop the sector as well as improving the income of farmers through its various initiatives.
“This includes conducting courses and providing training to give the farmers better understanding on the advancements of technology and its application in modernising agriculture.
“This will be able to help family of famers and also livestock breeders to improve their crop yield apart from enhancing the quality of their products,” he said when officiating at the Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (AgriCOP) in Batu Danau recently.
During the programme, a total of 135 participants from thirteen villages in the area joined the course on agriculture modernisation conducted by officers from the Agriculture Department.
