TEBEDU: Local assemblyman Dr. Simon Sinang Bada held a walkabout programme to review the progress of various projects within his constituency yesterday (Feb 1).

He began his walk in Kampung Lanchang Sijo, which will receive a new bridge over the Kuhas River to the agricultural area.

The project is a joint effort with the Serian Public Works Department (PWD).

Dr. Simon said funds from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) will be used to construct the new bridge and requested that the Public Works Department (PWD) prepare all necessary documents before the funding could be disbursed.

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) reported that Dr Simon noted that the construction of the bridge is important to the villagers because it allows them to explore new land and build houses in the future.

Following that, the Tebedu assemblyman along with his entourage made a surprise visit to SK Parun Suan and Kampung Plaman Nyabet.

He pledged to build a new concrete drain while inspecting the school area that needed drain repair works.

He proceeded to Kampung Plaman Nyabet to view the RM350,000 concrete bridge over Sungai Bisong, which was completed on Feb 26, last year.

Also present was Serian District Council deputy chairman Asem Linkin and Lanchang Sijo Village chief Vincent Licho.
