TEBEDU: Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) play an important role in advancing schools and pushing the development of students.

Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said that the performance of each school was not only the responsibility of teachers but also parents and the surrounding communities.

“PTAs should play an important role in helping schools produce excellent students in terms of academic and also personality.

“In addition to helping obtain allocations for school infrastructure, they should also plan various programmes that can give awareness to parents and guardians about the importance of education, whether in terms of academic or skills,” the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) quoted him as saying during the SK Krusen charity dinner held recently.

Dr Sinang added that teachers should always have a high value of integrity in carrying out their responsibilities and he also called on every student to study with full commitment.

At the event, he also approved the Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM15,000 for SK Krusen PTA.
