MUKAH: Police arrested three males including an underaged boy who were involved in drugs activity here on Thursday.

Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said in the first arrest, a 28-year-old lorry driver was detained near a bistro & café at Jalan Pasar Baharu.

“From body check on the suspect, police seized a box of cigarettes and found inside it was a straw tube containing crystalline substances suspected to be syabu, weighing about 0.19g,” he said in statement yesterday.

About four hours later, police arrested two males – a 25-year-old oil palm plantation worker and 15-year-old unemployed boy and seized a plastic packet containing crystalline substances suspected to be syabu weighing 1.76g inside a car at Jalan Pasar Baharu.

All the three suspects were brought to the police station for further investigation, and urine test found that all of them were drugs positive.

They were remanded for four days from Aug 7 to facilitate investigation under Section 12 (2) and 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
