SARIKEI: A 17-year-old man who caused trouble at a kindergarten in Tanjung Manis recently is expected to be charged in court.

Sarikei district police chief, Superintendent Awang Arfian Awang Bujang, said that a urine test conducted on the suspect confirmed that he was under the influence of drugs during the incident.

The charges against the suspect fall under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

These charges pertain to mischief and damage to property, as well as Section 323 of the same Code for voluntarily causing injury.

“We will file charges in court once the investigation is completed. The suspect has been remanded for four days until June 18,” he said in a statement today (June 17).

On June 12 at 8.20 am, the suspect went out of control and attempted to enter a Tabika Kemas in Kampung Rajang. A 36-year-old teacher sustained injuries to her hands, leg, and back while protecting nine children from the suspect who was attempting to enter the classroom.
