MIRI: Less than 24 hours after a motorcycle was reported stolen from a Quadruplex unit in Bandar Baru Permyjaya here, police have successfully detained an 18-year-old local boy to assist their investigation into the crime.
The suspect was detained around 11pm on Sunday (Nov 7) a few blocks away from the location where the motorcycle was reported stolen earlier that day. During the arrest, police also recovered the motorcycle.
According to Miri police chief, ACP Hakemal Hawari, the boy was detained by a team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following a report lodged by the motorcycle’s owner.
The motorcycle, a Yamaha 135LC, was discovered missing around 4am on Sunday.
The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
