KUCHING: A teenager who was on his way to work died on the spot after the car he was driving collided with another car and a motorcycle yesterday morning at Moyan, Jalan Batu Kawa here.
Aidan Audrey Andrew, 19 from Lorong 14, Batu Kawa was driving a Proton Wira with a female passenger heading towards Batu Kawa from Bau when a car coming from the opposite direction collided with him at about 7.40am. The motorcyclist who was in the same direction as Aidan sustained injuries on his eyes and hands.
The 30-year-old female passenger from Kpg Melaban, Kota Samarahan also sustained injuries on her face and hands.
The driver of the other car, a 47-year old man from Jalan Matang, Batu Kawa, was also seriously injured. All the vehicles were badly damaged.
Sarawak Head of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that the vehicles were sent to Puspakom for inspection while the victim and the injured were sent to Sarawak General Hospital.
The accident caused a massive traffic jam as the road was partially blocked and it was peak hour at the time of the accident.
