Temporary lockdown for hospital ward

The door to the hospital ward was locked although restricted movement among staff was allowed.

SIBU: One ward at Sibu Hospital was put on lockdown on Friday (Sept 11) following a suspected Covid-19 related case.

The lockdown was imposed from before noon until 6.45pm when this report was filed.

It is learned that the patients in the ward were getting uneasy over the unexpected lockdown.

A few patients’ family members were also locked down inside the ward.

The movement of hospital staff into and out of the ward was restricted too.

It is also learned that the lock down will only be lifted until the result from checks on the said patient is disclosed.

At press time (6.45pm), the lockdown has not been lifted.
