KUCHING: Ten orphans and senior citizens from the Asnaf (poor) group in Lundu received donations in the form of cash and rice.
The donations were presented by Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.
Although she is packed with a busy schedule, she still allocated some of her time to present the donations in a ceremony held at Masjid Pehin Sri Adenan Satem in Lundu last Sunday.
Jamilah stated that more programmes would follow suit in her area soon.
In addition, a gotong-royong (group work) programme to clean up the mosque was also organised by the Tahfizul Quran Al-Munawwarah Centre led by Ustaz Kyrel involving members of the mosque committee and local residents.
Also present at the event was Tanjung Datu Youth chief Azizul Annuar Adenan.
