Ten charitable bodies receive CNY goodies

KUCHING: About 10 charitable organisations received ang pows and groceries in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebration.

Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI) gave away the ang pows, daily goods, as well as packet lunch packs for the residents and staff of the respective organisations as a gesture of expressing their love and care to those concerned.

“The total donations received for this programme amounted to RM41,756 which are donations from the committee members of KCGCCI and warm-hearted individuals and corporate organisations.

“The programme was held from Jan 27 to Jan 30. A simple handing over to the persons in-charge of the designated organisations were held while adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the relevant authorities,” stated in the press statement.

The charitable organisations benefited from the programme are Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Home; Salvation Army Kuching Boys’ Home; Mental Health Association of Sarawak; Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng; Sarawak Society for Parents’ of Children with Special Needs; Pertubuhan PDK Suria; Sarawak Cheshire Home; Sarawak Society for the Blind; Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital; and 13th mile Home for the Aged.

KCGCCI expressed their appreciation to the kind participation and support from generous donors to make the programme a success.
