BANGKOK: The eldest daughter of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati has been hospitalised due to a heart problem on Wednesday evening in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province.

The Royal Household Bureau, in a statement, said Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s condition has stabilised to a certain level.

It said the 44-year-old collapsed while training her dogs for the Thailand Working Dog Championship organised by the Royal Thai Army when she lost consciousness and was treated at a local hospital.

“During the training, Princess Bajrakitiyabha lost consciousness due to a heart condition,” the statement said.

Royal Household Bureau added that Princess Bajrakitiyabha received medical treatment at Pak Chong Nana Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima province and was flown by helicopter to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok for further treatment.

Reuters reported that the princess is one of King Vajiralongkorn’s three children, who have formal titles, making her eligible for the throne under a 1924 Palace Law of Succession. – BERNAMA
