BANGKOK: Thailand’s Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, who has been hospitalised after she lost consciousness due to a heart condition, is reported to be stable at one level.
The Royal Household Bureau in a statement said the 44-year-old princess, warded at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok since Dec 15, is receiving support for her heart, lungs, and kidney.
The statement said medication was given to control the princess’s heartbeat and rhythm.
However, it said the systole — the contraction phase of the cardiac cycle was not functioning well although coronary angiography showed there were no abnormalities.
“Therefore, the princess is given medication and she was on heart, kidney, and lung support. The medical team will closely monitor the princess’s condition,” it said.
On Thursday, the Royal Household Bureau, in a statement, said Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest child of King Mahal Vajiralongkorn, collapsed while training her dogs for the Thailand Working Dog Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima province on Wednesday evening.
She received medical treatment at Pak Chong Nana Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima province before being flown by helicopter to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok for further treatment.
