Blood donors bleed for a good cause.

KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital’s Blood Bank Centre has announced a stable blood supply level, thanks to recent donations.

In appreciation, the blood bank extended heartfelt thanks to donors for their crucial contributions, particularly during festive seasons when blood shortages are common.

“Your consistent donations, especially during critical periods, are highly valued,” the Blood Bank Centre said in a Facebook post.

Highlighting the increased public awareness of blood donation, the Centre urged donors to continue donating every three months. This regular donation schedule is vital for managing potential shortages before holidays and festive seasons.

The Centre noted that blood stock levels fluctuate, driven by the varying needs of patients, especially in high-transfusion medical cases.

The blood donation drive at SGH’s Blood Bank Centre will continue until January 5, with sessions from 8 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

Additional drives are scheduled at Emart Batu Kawa on January 6 (10 am to 3 pm), Emart Batu Kawah on January 7 (9 am to 2 pm), Hope Church on January 7 (9 am to 2 pm), and Al-Malik Unigarden, Samarahan, on January 7 (9 am to 1 pm).
