KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is hoping that individuals who have yet to register for the Covid-19 vaccination would come forward and approach its registration counter to do so.

Its chairman Lo Khere Chiang also encouraged those who are tech-savvy to help the elderly with the registration process.

“This morning, I asked around and found out that a lot of us have registered under MySejahtera, which is good.

“However, there are those who do not own a smartphone and there are also some, especially the elderly, who do not know how to register via MySejahtera. Thus, we are helping out this group of people,” he said.

Speaking during a visit to the Covid-19 vaccination registration counter at 3rd Mile Market today (Apr 3), its chairman Lo Khere Chiang said his team will be opening another counter today (April 4) from 8am to 12pm at the Taman Flora Indah basketball court and another one this coming Saturday (April 10) at 10th Mile Market from 8am to 12pm as well.

Lo, who is also Batu Kitang assemblyman, said that as of 9.20 am today, about 40 people have registered at the 3rd Mile Market counter.

“Nevertheless, even after being vaccinated, I would like to advise everyone to still wear face masks and practice the recommended standard operating procedures (SOPs). With both face masks and vaccinations, we will be able to combat Covid-19 better,” he said.

He also thanked his team from MPP for their commitment to ensuring that all eligible Sarawakians have registered themselves.
