Police arrested the suspects and recovered the stolen fertiliser and pesticides.

MIRI: Local police nabbed three men last Thursday (June 17) on suspicion of stealing RM3,000 worth of fertiliser and pesticides from Batu Niah Agriculture Office.

The suspects are believed to have committed the crime on June 15. An employee noticed the store’s fence and window had been cut open apparently with a hacksaw.

It was understood that six bags of fertiliser and 32 bottles of pesticides were missing from the store.

Following the report, a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the suspects aged between 23 and 37 on Thursday (June 17).

The arrests also led to the discovery of the missing fertiliser and pesticides.

All the suspects are now detained at Miri police station for further investigation.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, who confirmed the case, said the suspects were arrested at a house in Kampung Tanjung Belipat around 5pm.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
