CYBERJAYA: There should be no elements of sabotage in any organisation so as to give the best service to the people, said Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) chief executive officer Datuk Dr Rahmah Mohamed.

“We may subscribe to different political ideologies, but in serving the people, we should not allow ideological, racial or religious differences be a hindrance,” she said in her speech at the presentation of MQA’s Excellent Service Awards to 27 of its officers, here, today.

Rahmah said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had often reminded civil servants of their responsibility of carrying out their tasks with full dedication while not losing sight of the nation’s interest.

“The image of the government, ministry and whole agency must always be upheld,” she said and reminded the MQA workforce to never respond to netizen’s criticism using coarse language even in defending oneself.

“As public servants, you, ladies and gentlemen, should know your limits to engagement in communication and should adhere to the ethics of using social media,” she told the audience.

Rahmah also said that the MQA workforce needed to be more creative and innovative in facing the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).

Hence, they should be more aware and equip themselves with various knowledge and skills, especially in the field of information technology in order to raise their level of work efficiency and effectiveness, she added. – Bernama
