Overworking yourself regularly can have serious consequences for your health. Before you get into a bad situation due to stress, make sure to watch out for a few warning signs.

One risk factor can be working too fast, and forgetting or refusing to take breaks in between bursts of activity.

If you are noticing that you’re focusing more on speed instead of the quality of your work, you should probably rethink your approach.

It can also cause significant problems if you go to work sick.

If you rely on alcohol, meds or stimulants on a regular basis in order to get through the day or in order to relax, you should read that as a warning sign.

Another thing to watch out for is taking on more work than you can handle. If you find yourself pretending everything is fine, and you can do more, when you’re actually already struggling, that is a red flag. Don’t pretend to your co-workers that everything is going swimmingly when you’re actually drowning.
