PUTRAJAYA: A further 127 Covid-19 patients in Malaysia have recovered and were discharged Thursday, the third consecutive day of three-digit recoveries, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said this brought the cumulative figure for recoveries to 8,000, or 93.8 percent of the total number of positive cases.

A total of 333 recoveries were reported on Tuesday and 140 on Wednesday.

Dr Noor Hisham said as at noon Thursday, 14 new positive cases were reported, taking the total number of cases to 8,529.

“The number of active cases with infectivity stands at 408. They have been isolated for treatment,” he said in a statement.

Dr Noor Hisham said of the 14 new cases, three were imported cases involving two Malaysians and one permanent resident.

“Of the 11 local transmissions, seven are foreigners while four are Malaysians,” he added.

He said four positive cases were being treated at the Intensive Care Unit, with none requiring ventilator support.
