KUCHING: An autistic teenager was released on police bail after he was arrested for writing a death threat comment against Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas on Facebook.

Last Thursday, the suspect threatened to kill Uggah, who is the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman, if he were to announce movement control order (MCO) in Sarawak.

Following such act, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail when contacted, confirmed that the suspect,16, had been arrested.

“The suspect is a minor and is a disabled person (autistic).

“He was released on bail after police took his statement,” he told.

Aidi noted that the matter is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
