Three-day closure order for food centre

Taman Seroja Food Centre at Jalan Setia Raja has been ordered to be closed temporary from Monday (Feb 15) until Feb 17.

MIRI: Taman Seroja Food Centre at Jalan Setia Raja here is the latest location ordered to be temporarily closed.

Miri City Council (MCC) ordered the three-day brief closure for the eatery premises started from Monday (Feb 15) after it was suspected exposed to Covid-19.

This was said by MCC in a statement released on the same day.

The statement added that the decision to temporary close Taman Seroja Food Centre was made following the latest report by Miri Medical office dated February 14.

“In accordance with the requirements of the authority, MCC has decided that Gerai Taman Seroja or Taman Seroja Food centre would be temporarily closed for a period of three days starting from Feb 15 to Feb 17, so that thorough cleaning and sanitation could be carried out,” said the statement,

“During this period the food and drink centre would be closed to the public and it would only resume operation on Feb 19.

“The Council would again like to take this opportunity to remind all stall holders and the general public to continue practising safe hygiene. This includes frequently washing one’s hands and using sanitisers, maintaining social distancing as well as wearing face masks.

“All people should undergo body-temperature screening and ‘check-in’ before entering the hawker centres as well as other markets,” it said.

On Sunday (Feb 14), three hawker centres and a night market were instructed to be closed temporary with immediate effect for sanitation works until further notice.

These included Pasar Minggu Centre Point, Pasar Minggu Lutong, Tamu Marigold and Pasar Malam Saberkas.
