KUCHING: Three men were arrested by the police for flouting the movement control order (MCO) on Sunday.
According to Padawan District police Chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, the men were detained in front of a house at Taman Desa Wira here around 8.10pm.
“Aged between 27 and 30, they were found sitting inside a vehicle facing a house in a suspicious manner.
“When questioned by the police, the men said that they wanted to meet a friend to lend money to and find chicken,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He further said that inspections were conducted on the suspects and found nothing on them.
Aidil added that the trio knew and was fully aware of the MCO but had failed to present any valid reason to be outside.
The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Order 11 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulation (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) (No 2) Regulations 2020.
