Three foreigners and local nabbed for gambling

BAU: Police arrested four men for illegal gambling in a house at Jalan Mas on Saturday.  

Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said that the raid, which took place around 8pm, was conducted by a team from Bau Police Criminal Investigation Division.

“They arrested three Indonesians aged 25 to 46 and a local man aged 43. They were playing a gambling game as ‘Holo’, and were brought to Bau police station for further action,” he said in a statement.

Also seized during the raid was a unit of silver ‘Holo kong’, three dices with printed images of a chicken, crab, tiger, pumpkin, shrimp and fish, a piece of cloth and some cash.

Poge added that the case was being investigated under Section 7 (2) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and Regulation 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within Infected Local Areas) (No.6) Regulations 2020.

The foreigners were being investigated under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1963.
