KUCHING: Police here arrested three individuals in an integrated crime prevention and standard operating procedure (SOP) monitoring operation over the weekend.
The operation involving 13 officers and 67 personnel from various divisions of Kuching police headquarters (IPD), was held from 10pm on Apr 16 to 3.30am on Apr 17.
Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah in a statement, said one of the three arrested was found positive for drugs and two persons were found engaged in online gambling.
“Aside from that, the team also issued six compound notices to individuals who failed to abide by the SOPs set.
“In addition, the team inspected 417 men and 153 women as well as 144 vehicles throughout the operation,” he said.
Ahsmon pointed out that the operation focused on cafes, pubs and bistros that carry out open karaoke activities, reflexology centres and massage parlours.
