THREE K-POP BANDS COMING TO KUCHING

KUCHING: Lovers of K-pop (Korean pop) music are in for a treat as on 19 August, three up-and-coming K-pop bands will be performing here.

The three K-pop groups that will be performing are girl band, MATILDA and boy bands, A To Z and Rion Five; the concert entitled “K-pop Musical” will take place at Stadium Perpaduan.

This was revealed by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah yesterday during a press conference at Boulevard Shopping Mall here.

“K-pop is a genre that is growing in popularity, especially among our youths, and we want to give this to them for them to enjoy.

“If the response from the youths is good, then we will plan to bring down even bigger K-pop names to Kuching.

“So if you want to one day see your favourite K-pop artistes in Kuching, be sure to support this concert,” he said.

Karim added the concert would be an opportunity to promote tourism in the state as concert goers from as far as Japan could be interested in attending the concert in Kuching.

“We can also expect concert goers from all around Malaysia and neighbouring countries like Singapore to attend this concert,” he said.

Prices for tickets are divided into various categories, namely, Yellow Zone, Green Zone, Red Zone, A Class and VIP ranging from RM100 to RM300 each; profits from the ticket sales will go to charity.
