Three more deaths in the state take total to 87

KUCHING: Three deaths related to Covid-19 were reported in Sarawak today (March 6), bringing the total number to 87.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the deaths were recorded in Miri, Bintulu, and Sibu.

The committee said that the 85th death case was Case 8,677, a local 42-year-old man who tested positive on Feb 24 and was treated at Miri Hospital for having breathing difficulty.

SDMC said the case, who had comorbidities such as ischemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, gout and dyslipidemia, also had fever and cough. He died on March 5.

As for the 86th death case (Case 9,972), he was a 53-year-old local man who was referred to Bintulu Hospital from a private hospital after he tested positive on March 2.

The committee said he had symptoms such as cough and fever for several days before that. He died on March 5. The case also had comorbidities such as diabetes and obesity.

The 87th death (Case 2,833) was a local 58-year-old woman who was treated at Sibu Hospital after having cough and fever.

She tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 21 and died on March 5.

SDMC added she had comorbidities such as high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.
