KUCHING: Three more longhouses were placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) on Monday (June 7), said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
The longhouses are Rumah Menari, Sungai Durin in Sibu; Rumah Ayu Stok in Sarikei; and Rumah Bungkong, Nanga Sejunam in Julau.
The committee also announced the end of the EMCO at Rumah Menari, Sungai Durin on June 20 and the end of the EMCO at Rumah Ayu Stok and Rumah Bungkong, Nanga Sejunam on June 23.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at Rumah Sebastian Ngalang, Batu 6, Jalan Oya in Sibu would be extended until June 17, it added.
The SDMC also declared the end of the EMCO at Rumah Joel Bijat Ai in Sri Aman yesterday (June 8) while the end of the EMCO at Rumah Ben Kuleng and at SK Telok Gelam in Tanjung Manis today (June 9).
The committee also said Julau and Saratok districts had turned yellow after each recorded 18 and 19 local infection cases in the past 14 days.
“This leaves the state with two orange districts, ten yellow districts and 28 red districts,” it added.
